You've seen it yourself, a lot of the infomercials, tv ads, and
catalogs offer multiple payments on products that are a little expensive.
Instead of $99 for the product they'll charge 3 payments of $33. It's a
little more bookkeeping, but it makes it easier to sell the
product.
eCOMpal's Recurring Billing makes it easy for you to sell your products
like the pros do. Once it's set up it all happens automatically. You, and
your customer, receive notices each month when the payment is changed to
their credit card or checking account.
There are so many ways to set
up recurring payments that you are only limited by your imagination.
- Sell your products like Home Shopping Network and QVC with
multiple payment plans. Instead of $100 for your product or
service give them 4 easy payment of $25. Shipping, if any, can
be added to the first payment.
- Give your customers a "30 Day Trial". Delay billing for 30
days (or any number of days you want) and if they haven't
returned the product automatically bill them for the full
amount. Shipping can be billed immediately or with the 30 day
payment.
- Set up a subscription program. Sell you customers a product
(and it can be with a trial period) and then "refill" the
product each month and automatically bill them for the "refill"
and the shipping. The "refill" and the shipping for the "refill"
can be the same as or different than the original product and
shipping.
- Create a membership site. You customers pay a monthly fee
for access to specific information or services.
It's simple, easy, and will make you more money. The downside, of course,
to these two billing methods is that you don't get all your money up front.
The upside is that you sell more and once you get the cash flow moving
there's no difference over the long term.
Another way to use recurring billing is if you sell a service that
requires a monthly payment for the service. The billing continues until the
customer cancels the service. Once again, it's all automatic.
Just watch the
money flow into your bank account.
I think it's obvious, but I'm going to mention it anyway. Your product or
service has to be very good to excellent or you're going to get a lot of
returns and cancellations. This will only work if you're supplying a quality
product or service. |
