All too frequently transactions don't complete for a variety of
reasons. The customer lost the phone connection, the card was
declined, the credit card processor wasn't available, and a thousand
other things.

save the sale. Let's say, for example the credit card was declined. You have an
opportunity to call the customer and see if you can get a different credit card.
Or maybe the expiration date was entered incorrectly and you get the correct
expiration.

order that failed and enter the corrected information and resubmit it for
processing. This saves you the trouble of re-entering all the information, or
your customer having to do it again, which saves you time, effort, and reduces
the possibility of errors.
