One, it can give you valuable feed back about why the customer is leaving. And, two, it give your customer the opportunity to enter an email address or phone number so you can call or email them to resolve any questions they have. 

A couple of weeks ago a customer for another product I sell responded to the pop up. He was concerned because my site had said shipping was $9.95, but the shipping when he went to check out was $13.95. He sent me his email address so I could respond. The reason for the $13.95 was that he'd ordered more than one. I emailed him and told him why. He came back and ordered, giving me a $300 sale! A sale I would have lost without the pop up.

Second, if your customer has entered any email or phone information and there is no activity for the order for half an hour we will send you an email with the customer information. That way, you can contact them find out what the problem was and save the order.
