One more of the many disadvantages is that while surfing the net, your computer is likely to be infected by virus. Some viruses completely take over your computer and fully destroy your computer’s hard drive.

You may be taken by unscrupulous businesses selling fake and cheap products. In addition, you may also be vulnerable to misuse of your credit/debit card information through these businesses.

One controversial subject about the Internet is that, in trying to escape their problems, people try to lose themselves in the ‘virtual’ world. Internet addiction, another of the disadvantages of the Internet, is believed to be a true psychological disorder. Its symptoms are comparable to any addiction, withdrawal, and loss of relationships or job. That people put in innumerable hours uselessly surfing the net or chatting, is thought to be psychologically unhealthy.

Disadvantages of the Internet do exist and we need to put in efforts to remove the roadblocks on this superhighway of information and knowledge.
