How would your sales increase if you had hundreds or thousands of other sites helping you sell? What if you could get them selling for you and only pay them if you sold something? This is better than pay per click advertising because you only pay if you get a sale.

Normally, you pay your affiliates based on a percentage of the price of the product. Depending on the type of product you pay them anywhere from 10% of the sale to 50% of the sale.

The percentage you pay is typically based on the type of product you're selling. If you sell products you purchase for resale the percentage is usually on the low end.

If you sell information products, like Ebooks, or software you've developed or seminars, the percentage is toward the high end. And, it makes sense. You can also set up a program that pays a percentage to affiliates that refer other affiliates to you. This is called a two tier affiliate program. You might pay your first level affiliates 40% of the sales and your second level affiliates (the ones that referred the first level) 10% commission.
