I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how much we love your shopping cart. We switched from 1shoppingcart.com to your cart because we found that your cart had features that they had not yet added. We have seen an increase in orders since switching to your cart. In addition to your great product your support has been awesome! I will be recommending your cart to all my friends!

Keep up the good work.

Thank You, ZACORP INC. President Aaron Adams aaron@zacorpinc.com www.zacorpinc.com

Enhance Your Customer Relationships

Automate your follow up.

This is a great way to follow up with your customers.

One of the ways I personally use this is to follow up with my clients of a program I sell for contractors. I have a series of 8 emails that are sent over a period of 6 weeks telling them what to try next with the program and to call if they have any questions about the program.

This has cut my returns by 30% because my clients feel that I'm interested in their welfare. And, when they have a question rather than getting frustrated and angry they know to call or email to get a solution.

You can set up something similar for your product or service. Keep in contact with your customers and let them know that you're interested in their welfare.

Build a following

Frequently, people will not buy something from you the first time they visit. They need to get to know you and the products or services you sell. Selling is all about relationships. If you have a great product or service your customers will be with you for a long time.

You can build a following in a number of different ways. The objective is to collect email addresses from people that are interested in the area your product or service is appropriate to.

One way to build a relationship is to capture their email address before they leave and give them something of value in return for their email address. Some might call it bribery. For example, you can give them a special report related to you site. Or, you can set up a series of emails the provide them with valuable information. If you signed up for our "Seven Steps to Selling Online" you gave me your email address in return for the information.

Another possibility is a newsletter on the topic your site specializes in.

Different Lists

If you have different products or services or different promotions you offer you can have different lists based on the visitor's area of interest. That way you can have different promotions based on the list.

Newsletters and special offers

Once you've collected the email address of your visitors you need to have a system to keep in contact with them.

A newsletter is an excellent way to keep in contact with your list. In addition to keeping your name in front of them it also establishes you as an expert in your field, assuming you provide valuable information in your newsletter.

From time to time you may want to offer your list a special offer of one kind or another. For example, you may want to give them a coupon for 10% off if they order in the next 10 days. Or, you could offer a teleconference that is about the topic you specialize in.

By the way, when you're sending newsletters or special promotions you can send to any combination of one or more of your mail lists. The system is extremely flexible.
