Email Promotion and Internet Marketing
A low cost solution to your marketing needs can be email promotion and internet marketing. This basically involves sending out emails to prospective clients. These emails can give information about your company and product, present special offers to your potential client base, and generally keep your clients informed about new products.
One concern these days about email promotion and internet marketing is the fight against spam. With all of the anti-spam software on the market, and the fact that the major internet providers offer free anti-spam capabilities to their users, this type of email promotion no longer seems to be an effective tool for legitimate businesses. Most internet consumers don’t even look in their spam folders anyway because they assume what is in there is selling get rich quick schemes, adult sites, and little blue pills. These are probably not the kinds of companies you want to be associated with. And if your unsolicited email does make it to the inbox of the recipient, you may create more bad blood than interest on the part of a potential consumer.
Given the current feelings of the general public towards spam, the best way to use email promotion and internet marketing is through the use of opt-in lists and current client lists. Opt-in lists can be created from visitors to your website. If there is a possible interest in your company or product, giving the visitor an option to fill out a form for more information is a great way to open the door for future contact. Just make sure you don’t bombard them with an email a day, and always give them the option to opt-out of your email list.
Another useful method for email promotion and internet marketing is to build an email list from your current clients. When a customer places an order or makes any contact with your company, get their email address and add it to your list. Again, you want to make sure you don’t inundate them with emails and that you give them a chance to tell you if they no longer want to receive your messages.
Once you decide on how to build your list of recipients, you then have to decide how you are going to create the messages for your email promotion and internet marketing. Do you want to handle it manually, writing your messages and then sending them every so often to a list of clients and potential clients? Or do you want to create messages that go out automatically to your list at set intervals? Either way works, it is just a matter of how automated you want the process to be. If you choose the more automated approach, there are plenty of auto-responder software programs available to choose from.
The best thing to remember about email promotion and internet marketing is that you want to draw in your customers, not drive them away. Think about how you respond to unsolicited and solicited email, and expect that many of your customers will probably feel the same. Respect their time by making your emails worthwhile, and you have a better chance of turning potential customers into loyal ones.
